Casey Murphy is concentrating her practice in the areas of labor and employment law. As a new Associate to the firm, she will assist with representing management and individual defendants in the private and public sector in all aspects of labor and employment. Ms. Murphy will work with clients in a broad range of matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower status, retaliation, employment agreements, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, contract issues, business torts and wage and hour issues.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked as Assistant Corporation Counsel to the City of Newark in their Litigation Division. There, Ms. Murphy handled a variety of matters including tort liability, constitutional rights, police pursuit, landlord/tenant, employment, and more.
Upon receiving her J.D., Ms. Murphy clerked for the Honorable Nesle A. Rodriguez in the Hudson County Superior Court, Criminal Division from 2022 – 2023, assisting with drafting judicial decisions involving criminal statutes and procedure in New Jersey including Miranda waivers, the right against self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment, Wade hearings and suggestive police identifications, and other evidentiary issues, analyze and research evidentiary and constitutional questions of law and produce sentencing memos and assist in managing the calendar. Ms. Murphy is admitted and licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey. She is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
While in law school, Ms. Murphy was involved as T.A. for Criminal Law, Evening Student Association Vice President, 2020 Moot Baker Trial Court Competition Member, If/When/How Evening Representative. She was Recipient of the Eli Jarmel Public Interest Memorial Prize, and Leslie Miller Scholarship.
